Comment: I hired someone else to do my roof and they f****** it up and never completed it and the section they did do was leaking. I had to have Virginia's come out and fix and finish it. Troy told me it would have been cheaper to just have him do it; but he saved me as much money as he could by reusing as much as he could from the other guys. I should have known something was fishy because the other roofers had me pull the building permit. I guess there's a lot of roofers running around but you have to be licensed and bonded to pull a building permit unless you're the homeowner. That's why they had me get the permit.

Comment: Wanted some things cleaned up and a shed tore down. I'm getting too old to do this stuff. Not a big job, but they came over and took care of it. While they were here, I had a flat tire on my car. Steve took it off and took it to have it patched for me. He didn't even charge me, I just had to reimburse him for what the tire place charged to fix it. So, I bought him and his worker 'Doug' a pizza for lunch. A nice bunch of guys and reasonable. The owner stopped by and scolded me for feeding the help, he said they'd get spoiled and would now want lunch every day. He was joking of course, but he and my cousin hit it off as they talked about their Army days and what the Cubs will be doing this year. Comment: These guys are great. I had several people look at my roof and these guys impressed me the most. I'm so glad I had them do the work. They did an excellent job. Our insurance adjuster said it was the best workmanship he'd seen. I almost went with someone else, when I told my insurance agent it was ******* (redacted), he said good thing I didn't because he's had nothing but problems dealing with them. He also said that ************ (redacted) Insurance has never had problems with Virginia's and they're a preferred vendor.

Comment: I didn't want a bunch of illegals working on my roof and dealing with issues if someone got hurt. There seems to be a lot of contractors out there that are cheap and have a large labor force what I think are probably illegals. That's just my opinion and I base that on none of them speaking English. Call me racist or whatever you want, but I had several roofing company's look at what I needed, and I asked to see their workers comp policy and license numbers. I told them that my father-in-law hired someone to do his roof and he got sued because one of the workers got hurt and the contractor had NO insurance. Most of these guys never got back to me or said I didn't need it etc. When Steve came out, he said no problem and the owner called me and gave me the information. I even went to my homeowner's policy company, ********** (redacted), and they verified it was legit. Maybe some people would not care, but not me.

Comment: My furnace wasn't working. I called one of the traditional heating places and they looked at it and said it needed a major repair. I called Troy, I've used them in the past and they replaced it for me instead of spending money on endless repairs as the others wanted. No issues and they were able to set me up with an easy payment plan.

Comment: Don't be fooled by someone giving a cheaper 'Proposal' because they low ball you to get the job and then charge you more money. Also, look at the shingle they're putting on, cheap shingles might save you some money, but a better shingle isn't much more. I do electrical and construction work, so I know a lot of these guys, but I don't do roofs. The average roof, in Kankakee is about $14k - $20k, I did use Larry whenever I needed a roof in the past, but he's doing roofs now for the Lord. I called around and got some estimates and one was about $3k less than the average. Then I stumbled into these guys at the Legion; someone said they worked with Larry years ago. I talked with Troy, asked for an estimate and he hit the numbers right where I was estimating. I hired them and no regrets. I'd like to think my friend Larry was smiling down on me and made it all happen.

Comment: I just needed someone to fix an outside light for me, I called and talked to someone, and they sent over a guy, and he fixed it. There was a wire bad and had come loose. When I asked him what I owed he said, 'you owe me nothing'. I said that's not right you'll get fired, for which he relied 'I wish'; I'm the owner. You can pay me next time when you have a real problem. I'm 73 years old and it's nice to know there are still honest and trustworthy people out there. I forget his name, but he said he was ex-military and being honest and helping people was in his nature.

Comment: I didn't like these guys because I thought they were a little 'stand offish' and were more interested in trying to sell me a roof replacement. I told them I just wanted it patched. Troy said they don't do patch work and to hire someone else. So, I'm going to spend my money elsewhere, you guys lose. ADMINISTRATOR: We're sorry you didn't like our service but what Troy meant was we don't do work to just take money. In your case, your roof is beyond repair and even though there are contractors out there that will take your money, we're not one of them. We will fix it right, if it's repairable we'll repair it. Unfortunately, in your case it's our opinion it is not repairable and needs to be replaced. Good luck and we wish you well.
